It’s a great pleasure seeing GOST’s Documentation Officer Stefano Malvestio in an in-depth Interview with Italian TV-station Asterisco about the Navigator’s Heritage Challenge and its effects produced in the creation of International Understanding and the creation of awareness for the UN Global Goals
The Ocean Heritage Red Carpet Event
On Friday the 28th of June at 7.30 p.m. the exclusive Navigators Heritage Red Carpet Event will take place at Palacio Can Marques in Palma de Mallorca.
It is dedicated to raising awareness for the Ocean Challenge, the merits of Prince Albert I of Monaco as well as the associated UN Global Goal #14 to protect the world‘s oceans.
One of Europe’s leading weather professionals is joining the Navigators Heritage Onshore Team
Jure Jerman: Meteorologist at the Slovenian Environmental Agency and Chief Meteorologist of the Navigators Heritage Challenge
Jure Jerman is a meteorologist at the Slovenian Environmental Agency (ARSO), and he was one of the first people to build a Linux cluster for operational weather forecasting. While the development of commercial HPC solutions means he no longer has to tinker with the system as much, he still finds working with HPC exciting. Outside the office, he enjoys applying his meteorology knowledge to sailing.
Welcome to the Global Offshore Sailing Team, Jure.

Message from Ambassador Ghislain D’hoop
“Dead reckoning will get us there”: it could be the motto of this extraordinary seagoing challenge. It can’t be done without tools: sextant, compass, chronometer, charts, computational aids. But we, GOST sympathisers, know that the real challenge is, as always, human: nothing can be achieved unless we work as a team towards a common goal, relying on our own ingenuity whilst respecting and needing the other’s talents. Trust, courage, commitment to the goal and the team, sheer hard work, but above all: the spirit of surpassing oneself in order to achieve greater things.
Ghislain D’hoop
We wish you every success.
May the winds be fair, the weather clement, may the sea carry you safely to your destination.
May the sun and stars guide you, may your sightings be reliable and your computations accurate.

Onshore Team
The Onshore Team is the heartbeat of the NAVIGATORS HERITAGE CHALLENGE and the OCEAN HERITAGE EVENT. Without their engagement the goals set, could not reached. Outstanding people with a unique passion for our oceans.
Meet them here
Teams
The Navigators Heritage Challenge is all about the sailors bold enough to compete in it. As more teams are announced, and more sailors signed up to sail with them, we’ll add profiles, photos, videos and features that will help you get to know them in the build-up to the offshore challenge.
Happy birthday GOST
20 years ago Jochen and I founded the Global Offshore Sailing Team. At that time working for an American Investment Bank, which in the meantime has disappeared. Not so ‘GOST’, which has grown year to year with more sailors and bigger adventures. I do really look forward to the next 20 years. Happy birthday GOST.
